While working with half-processed wood, it often happens to have leftovers that are difficult to reutilize somewhere else. We decided to design a lamp to valorize some scrap wood.
A LED strip is hidden inside the main piece of cedar and the light is reflected on the facing cambium of wood. Everything is kept together with epoxy resin. A metal frame on three sides of the lamps completes the composition and hides the electronics. The metal frame is treated with a ferric chloride solution to obtain a protective rust bluing effect.
The purpose of the lamp is to diffuse a warm and relaxing light in the ambient, while being an interesting piece of furniture while it is off.
